Uses of Fluoxetine
Fluoxetine it primarily used for patients suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, bulimia nervosa as well as others. This psychotropic drug is taken orally.
Dosage
The medication is taken between once and twice per day on a regular basis. Fluoxetine may take up to 5 weeks to relieve symptoms with the results of the drug lasting around 9 months after the completion of a 3 month treatment period.

In Case of Missed Dose
Take immediately when you realize you have missed a dose. However, if you forget until the folowing day, skip missed dose and continue with regular dosage schedule. Two doses should not be taken at once.
Potential Side Effects
It is not possible to anticipate side effects. If any occur, the doctor should be informed so that he or she can determine whether the medication should be continued.
The most-seen side effects are yawning, weakness, nausea and vomiting, tremors, sweating, sore throat, sleepiness, sinusitis, rash, nervousness, loss of appetite, itching, insomnia, impotence, headache, gas, blushing, flu-like symptoms, dry mouth, dizziness, decreased libido, abnormal ejaculation, anxiety, abnormal vision, and abnormal dreams.
Other rarer side might occur including weight gain, sleep disorders, ear ringing, palpitations, memory loss, increased appetite, high blood pressure, frequent urination, fever, emotional instability, ear pain, confusion, chills, bleeding, agitation, and abnormal taste.
Adolescents and children may also experience rare side effects such as thirst, personality changes, nosebleeds, hypomania or mania, hyperactivity, frequent urination, excessive bleeding during menstruation, and agitation.
Any side effects should be reported to the physician.
In Case of Overdose
