Diprolene AF

Feeling itchy is never a pleasant sensation, particularly when the itch does not fade while scratching. When itchiness stems from the use of medications and becomes particularly annoying, doctors might prescribe Diprolene AF to handle the problem.

Use of Diprolene AF:

Diprolene AF is used to manage itchiness caused by inflammatory reactions or corticosteroid-responsive dermatosis in patients who are at least 13 years old or older. When a medication causes severe itching that will not fade, the medication can help.

Taking Diprolene AF:

Diprolene AF is a topical cream that patients apply directly to the skin. Patients should spread a thin layer of the cream over the affected or itchy area once or twice a day as directed by a doctor.

Warnings About Diprolene AF:

The medication should only be used as directed by a doctor. Discontinue use when the doctor determines it is no longer needed to treat the corticosteroid-responsive dermatosis.

Only use this medication directly on the skin. It is a topical medication and should not be taken internally. If applying on the face, take care to avoid getting the cream in the eyes. If it gets into the eyes, flush the eyes immediately with water.

Patients should never use Diprolene AF for any other skin condition than the one it was prescribed for or give it to friends or family who might have similar looking skin conditions. Discuss any other skin problems with a doctor to determine the appropriate method of treating new conditions.

Missed Doses:

Patients who miss a dose of Diprolene AF should not double a dose later. If you remember the dose shortly after the missed dose, apply the medication immediately. If you remember close to the next dose, take the next dose like normal and resume a normal dosage schedule.

Side Effects of Diprolene AF:

Diprolene AF might potentially cause skin atrophy such as bruising or shininess of the skin. In general, side effects are mild when taken as directed. Patients who develop signs of allergies such as swelling or hives should discuss the allergic reactions with a doctor.

Overdosing:

It is possible to overdose on topically applied Diprolene AF. If an overdose is suspected, seek medical attention immediately.
