Information About Kenalog
Kenalog is commonly used to treat skin conditions as well as mouth ulcers.
This medication can come in various forms including a cream, a liquid or a spray. If the medicine has been prescribed for mouth ulcers, you should thinly cover the ulcers in your mouth as prescribed. Usually it is easiest to put the cream on at night before going to bed or after eating a meal. You should take care to avoid eating and drinking immediately after applying this medication in your mouth. If you are to use this medication for skin conditions, you should take it as directed by your doctor.
As with all medications, it is wise to check with your doctor if you are pregnant or are nursing a baby before taking this prescription.
If you miss a dose of this medication, apply the cream as soon as possible after discovering that you have skipped a dose. Do not apply more of the cream than prescribed even if you have missed a dose.
Sometimes, this medication can cause some side effects if it is used for a long period of time. Certain people are at a greater risk for developing side effects including babies, toddlers, or children. People who are older and who use this medication to help with mouth ulcers under false teeth have also been known to experience side effects. If you notice that your gums or skin are irritated after using this product, you should stop taking it and discuss your side effects with your doctor.
It is important to keep this medication out of the reach of children. Also make sure to check that the cap is secured on the tube after using it in order to prevent children from getting into the medication. Store Kenalog in a cool, dry place for best results.

This medication is usually not prescribed to be taken for more than 5 days maximum. If your symptoms have still not gone away by this time, you should contact your doctor for an appointment to discuss your condition. After you have finished taking this medication, make sure to properly dispose of it.
