Treating Skin Conditions with SynalarSynalar is a topical medication that is typically prescribed by physicians for the treatment of certain skin issues such as itchiness, redness and swelling due to various medical conditions.

How is Synalar Used?

Synalar is a topical medication that is applied directly to the affected areas of the skin. Wash hands before and after application of this medicine. Gently blend in the medicine until it is absorbed by the skin. Unless directed by your physician, do not cover the area after you have applied the medication. Synalar should be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor. 

Warnings

If you do not notice any improvement to the affected areas of the skin within a couple of days, contact your doctor, as your dosing requirements may need to change. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are nursing your baby before you take this medication as it is not clear whether Synalar will harm your unborn baby.

Missed Application

If you miss a scheduled application of this medication, apply it as soon as you remember provided it is not too close to the time of your next scheduled application. If such happens to be the case, skip that application and go on to the next scheduled dose. Never double up on medication of any kind.

Side Effects

There are a number of side effects associated with this topical medication. This is not an exhaustive list; therefore, if you experience a side effect not listed above, tell your doctor or healthcare provider. Some of the more common side effects associated with Synalar include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Thinning of the skin of the affected area
  • Discoloration of the affected area
  • Itchiness

Storage Instructions

Synalar must be stored at room temperature away from direct sources of heat, light and moisture. Keep tightly sealed and out of the reach of children.

Overdose

If Synalar is ingested, call Poison Control or go to your nearest emergency room.
