Seasonale Uses
Seasonale is used as a birth control to prevent pregnancy among women. This medication will not protect users against transmission of the HIV AIDS virus or other sexually transmitted diseases including genital herpes, genital warts, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis B.
How Seasonale is Taken
Seasonale comes in tablet form and should be taken every day at the same time until the tablet dispenser is empty. Regardless of how often you have sex, you should still take Seasonsale on a regular basis. Despite symptoms such as spotting, bleeding, or feelings of nausea, you should not skip taking a dose of Seasonale.
Seasonale Warnings
Since this drug can be passed through breast-milk, talk to your physician or other healthcare provider before taking Seasonale if you are currently breastfeeding a child.
Missed Seasonale Dose
Pills should be taken no farther than 24 hours apart. Each skipped dose increases your chances of becoming pregnant. If you start taking Seasonale later than originally planned, you may also become pregnant.
Seasonale Side Effects
There are several side effects of Seasonale including a rise in blood pressure, darkening of the skin in spots, nausea, vomiting, decrease or increase of appetite, headache, nervousness, dizziness, depression, tenderness of the breasts, rash, infections in the vaginal area, allergic reactions, and balding of scalpel hair.
Storing Seasonale
This medicine should be stored at room temperature between 20-25 degrees C (or 68-77 F). Seasonale should be kept away from children.
Seasonale Overdoses
If you overdose on Seasonale, you should contact your physician or pharmacist as soon as possible. Taking too much Seasonale can result in nausea and bleeding.
More Seasonale Information
Before starting Seasonale, your healthcare provider will need to review your medical and family history, and will also ask you to complete a physical examination. You will need to receive a similar examination at least one time a year for as long as you take Seasonale.
